I recently stayed at this lovely, cozy place for a night before heading out on a safari. The warm welcome by the hosts immediately made me feel like a friend rather than a guest. The attention to detail in the well-kept rooms and beautiful terrace was impressive. The highlight of my stay was the magical garden, where I witnessed hundreds of fireflies dancing with the twinkling stars. It was a truly breathtaking experience. The hosts also went above and beyond to assist with the safari arrangements and served a delicious, hearty breakfast after the morning adventure.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The breakfast offerings could have been more varied.

Loved the cycling! It was especially amusing when I fell face-first into a muddy puddle. Breakfast was decent too, at least it distracted me from the mosquito bites. , the national park was only 11 km away, perfect distance for the elephants to come knocking at my door.
Oh, and let's not forget the charming mosquitoes, they really added that extra touch of authenticity to the experience.

The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home during our stay. the food served was delicious and gave us a taste of the local cuisine. We also enjoyed the convenience of being close to the Elephant Transit Center, where we were able to witness feedings of orphaned elephants. arranging a safari through the hotel provided us with an excellent tour of the national park, allowing us to see a variety of animals.
One drawback was the lack of wifi, which made it difficult for us to make plans for our onward travels and communicate with our companions at other locations. Another issue was the uncertainty of meal prices, as we weren't aware of the costs until we received the bill.

The staff arranged car service during my first stay. Free parking, laundry, outdoor dining area, leisure/TV room, cycling, and board games are everything I need. Always returning for a romantic escape. No regrets, it suits me perfectly.

Clean rooms with a safari style - perfect for visiting the nearby national park. The owners are amazing - so friendly and helpful. They even gave us rides - showed magic tricks, and prepared meals in the back garden. They arranged our safari for a great price, and the driver took us to Udawalawa Safari for a 4-hour tour. a great location - super clean rooms, and fantastic service. Would definitely recommend Owls Nest to anyone wanting to visit!
Would definitely recommend.

Shamika's English skills were also excellent, making communication a breeze. The location was perfect, situated near Udawalawe National Park. Cons: Nothing that I didn't like 😊.
